Mystery Walk - Raza
|
Posted by Raza on 01/30/08 Categories: Raza's Music 10323 views
Two lead sounds, first the piano and then the cool chimes of the electric piano. :D
This song is all improv.
It was done in two sessions, one after the other. I stopped in the middle to hear the piano and then I changed the setting to E.Piano and began recording again.
And that's it!
I actually enjoyed the results so I decided you guys would probably too.

The Death Song - Raza
|
Posted by Raza on 01/23/08 Categories: Raza's Music 86 views
Here is The Death Song in it's entirety. I wrote the second half a long time ago and posted it here before, the first half I wrote almost a half a year ago by this time. It's not performed perfectly but I think you'll enjoy it. Unlike the uncomplete song up top (Spilled Milk) this song has perect song structure - or as near to perfect as I am satisfied with. It's actually two songs rolled into one. Mostly all of my accoustic songs have a good song structure, I swear! lol

Raza - Spilled Milk (WIP)
|
Posted by Raza on 01/22/08 Categories: Raza's Music 87 views
If anyone has the desire too, I'd love to hear someone finish this by filling it in.
EXPLAINED:
-----------
Like, download the MP3 and then create pads/sfx, organ, WHATEVER to finish the 'band'. Like, its just singing and playing guitar, you could add some other instruments to finish the song. There is at least a moment or two in there for some type of solo so. I mean, if you really wanted too than I would love to hear it. If not of course, I dont' care just throwing it out there.
ABOUT:
------
This is a mixture of two choruses I came up with, one older and one recent. Plus a riff I came up with a long-long time ago that happened to fit the intro and outro. (EDIT: I apologize, this song was also written with my cousin John)

Dark Ambience [Rough Draft 2]
|
Posted by Max Experimental on 10/23/07 Categories: Drac's Music, Azrane's Music, Max's Music 106 views
»»»»» Download Draft 2 «««««
Draft 1: I was fucking around this morning with an idea that I've had for a while now for a mix. This can be considered the first forray into that idea. It is somewhat crudely done, but I don't care. The point is to get a sample out for now.
Draft 2: Added bFusion's Ani's Dream to the end.
Rough Draft 2 Playlist:
1. Azrane - Creeping
2. Max_Experimental - Doom (project_002)
3. Draconum - Home [Max_Experimental Dark Ambience Mix]
4. Max_Experimental - JediMind's Minimal Project [Dark Ambience Mix]
5. Azrane - Darkened Skyline
6. bFusion - Ani's Dream

Azrane - RFR Intro - Update!
|
Posted by Azrane on 10/18/07 Categories: Azrane's Music 111 views
I was dicking around with some samples I found stashed away and created this funky track. I'm going to use this as the opener for my radio show on Saturday nights.
EDIT:
RFR Intro with Soundbytes
Did some leveling and EQ work on the track, and threw in a series of soundbytes to make it more interesting. Why have an intro if it doesn't have a hook to draw in the listeners? Let me know what you think of this new version. I'll upload the new instrumental version later, after I get some sleep.
2nd Edit:
Instrumental updated, link updated. Check it.

Raza - Cruel Children
|
Posted by Raza on 10/17/07 Categories: Raza's Music 114 views
Raza's back and wierder than ever. Listen to this rolling groove while you surf the net or read a book. Hear the sounds of mocking children who are so cruel at the playground.
Note: There is a little tweaky bit at the beginning that just happened to occur from converting the *.wav into an *.mp3 its no biggie and there isn't any other instance of pushing 0db to bother your ears in the rest of the track.
(Although some other things might bother your ears for different reasons!)
-----------------------------
This is probably the last electronic sounding thing you're going to hear from me. I'm sitting on a few tracks but am probably not going to put them up. My focus is on soundtrack at the moment and that's the direction that I'm headed in. This is partly why you haven't heard anything from me in a long time, the other part being that I've been trying to get my life together this past year. The next songs that you will hear from me will be soundtrack in nature, or possibly more singing and playing, band-type songs. I seem to excell at those but I don't have the right equipment (or any band members for that matter) to record them properly.
I've written about 12 singing and playing songs some of which you've heard and that has been the bulk of my songwriting for the year 2007. I only have a handful electronic songs I did this year, the least I've done since I started making music.
Anyways I hope you enjoy this track despite its strangeness, or better yet, because of it!

New 2-hour mix
|
Posted by DraconumPB on 08/04/07 Categories: Drac's Music 412 views
Let's see what went into this mix... hrm....
Some Hybrid, Boom Jinx, Ferry Corsten, Luke Chable, Jonas Stuer, Max Graham, Deadmau5, Brazen (it's a remix of Africa by Toto XD), James Zabiela, Trentmoller, DJ Dan... There's a bit of electro house thrown in the second half :)
Note: THIS MIX WAS NOT PREPARED FOR AT ALL. IT IS 100% SPONTANEOUS AND MANY OF THESE SONGS, IF NOT MOST OR ALL, I HAVE NOT MIXED WITH BEFORE. SOME I HAD NOT EVEN LISTENED TO MORE THAN LIKE 30 SECONDS OF. I ALSO GOT A LTITLE ADVENTUROUS WITH THE MIXING AND KAOSS PAD. So there are fuck-ups :p Keep that in mind while listening. This mix was all about just going in head-first and asking questions later, with no prep or practice... trying new things, and not being afraid to mess up. It was an excercise of sorts.
Anyway, it's still pretty good throughout most of it, so listen and enjoy! :D
PS: One effect I did develop during this mix and came to like was one where I use the Kaoss Pad to do a single-beat stutter; i.e. one single beat is stuttered, and I raise the FX-level from 0 to 100 for about two measures leading up into a transition. This creates an effect where a stuttered beat gradually comes in and then disappears to lead into a new section or whatnot. I did it alot, particularly in the second half of the mix, because I liked it. It is, however, possibly OVERused, but like I said, this was about trying new things :p I also used the talk filter alot and towards the VERY end, something called a 'broken modulator' effect.
PS II: I think all of this music is stuff I bought on Beatport. :p
PS III: My mixing prog froze a couple times. I think it's partly because I was on Vista, wheras at Anthrocon I was mixing on my XP partition (and I had no problems).
PS IV: While I'm listening to it, here's some of the tracks...
1. Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Hybrid Remix)
2. Science Dept - Repercussions (Funk Functions Melody Mix)

Two Songs Not On Site
|
Posted by Raza on 07/18/07 Categories: Raza's Music 113 views
When Drac came over these are two songs he never heard before, or so he said, but I'm sure I put the one called "Special Energy" up before, but took it down for whatever reason. The other one I know none of you have heard because I wrote it a long time ago and didn't like it enough to put up. There is one part of the song I love though, its the ending.

Draconum - Comeback
|
Posted by DraconumPB on 07/18/07 Categories: Drac's Music 124 views
Why 'comeback'?
Well, I wrote this track in an hour (about exactly) using a new synth I've procured, and I realized that the chords are nearly identical to those in Defeated. So I wasn't going to continue Defeated, per se, but this will be the Comeback. It's got the same kind of feeling though. Dunno if I want to continue it... maybe.

Azrane - Darkened Skyline
|
Posted by Azrane on 07/09/07 Categories: Azrane's Music 346 views
New track I busted out in a few hours after work last night. It actually started as just the beats placed over an instrumental Buckethead track. After adding the bassline and the wub-wub sound, I removed the Buckethead and kept adding more stuff.
I totally abused the Poizone and Toxic III synths in this. ;)
Feedback's appreciated as always!

Finalized Trance Mix 001
|
Posted by Azrane on 06/27/07 Categories: Azrane's Music 765 views
I just finished the final version of my trance mix. This one sports 10 tracks and weighs in at 57 minutes and 10 seconds. It's exponentially more awesome than the first draft, I think. I got to include a few more of my favorite tracks.
- trance[]control - Lobotomized Unicorn
- Re:Locate - Typhoon
- trance[]control - Conga Trance
- trance[]control - In Trance We Trust
- trance[]control - Love and Desire
- trance[]control - Beginning of the End
- trance[]control - Crystal Dreams
- trance[]control - Out There
- trance[]control - Euphoria
- trance[]control - Gothenburg Sound
I really need some more mix-friendly artists. ;-)
May seem like a long set, but I had to pick from so many good songs.
Update: A fixed version is online now. If you downloaded before, and noticed the sync issues between tracks 1 and 2, It's been fixed.

More info and a track list later. I have a project to work on that's long overdue.
And yeah, I know the intro of the last song needs some work.

Been busy engineering..
|
Posted by Azrane on 06/15/07 Categories: Azrane's Music 150 views
Just wanted to keep you guys abreast of what's been going on.
I've been taking a break from producing, but I got pulled into a number of projects to do some engineering work for some friends. These are karaoke tracks, but there are other projects in the works, and plans for future projects to do some original work.
The first, by far, was the most irritating track I've ever had to work on. My friend Sgeek covered Call Me When You're Sober by Evanescence. The instrumental track was off a lot in different places by different amounts, and it took a LOT of work to get things synced properly. It didn't help matters when he decided to sing in three different octaves. I think the finished product was worth every little bit of nitpicking he did.
Download
This second track, Staind's Zoe Jane being covered by ADeadHeart was easier to sync, but it took me a little bit of work to do the effects without somehow damaging her vox. Still, I think it came out well. Knowing her (and her daughter) like I do, this almost made me cry.
Download
In addition to those, I kind of volunteered to do mixing for all entries in the "Sex Change Skaraoke" karaoke contest (Males get songs sung by females and vice versa). I've done three so far (and another track for another contest), and they've come out great. Friday's the last day, so I'm assuming I'll have a number of entries in my inbox waiting to be mixed when I wake up.

Trance Update
|
Posted by Azrane on 04/29/07 Categories: Azrane's Music 141 views
Did a lot of work on this track tonight. I have a preliminary layout done, changed the synth, removed the second synth. Added more variation. Personally, I like it, but I'm not impressed with it yet.
My friend Jeff says it reminds him of Reptile's Theme from Mortal Kombat. I can see that in the synth I chose (Toxic III ftw).
Please, review.

Draconum - Home (Beta)
|
Posted by DraconumPB on 04/22/07 Categories: Drac's Music 187 views
Wee. This is a track with me singing in it ;p
I'm planning on re-recording the vocals, probably, as well as adding more lyrics. But I think it turned out OK. This is the full version of that clip I previously posted, of course.
I'm still working on it, though

The Cubist - Dark Breath
|
Posted by The Cubist on 04/19/07 Categories: The Cubist's Music 170 views
UPDATE!
Genre: Hardcore Breaking
Length: 7:51 (some empty space at the end)
File Size: 9.59mb
Reworked some timing issues I had, extended the breakdown a wee bit, wrote second half of song...
the 3osc pattern that got left in the breakdown has been removed.
The third part is arabian, if you were perhaps wondering.
The second break is not the same as the first, besides timing. Listen!
Also, there was no EQing done to raise the volume of the bass. Those is samples, yo.
In fact, this track is largely (like all of mine) unmixed. I think it's fine, but if anyone here has ideas... please let me know.
